This recently released revamped version of Ben Nevis distillery's MacDonald's Traditional Ben Nevis has eschewed the previous tall bottle presentation in favour of the the more familiar chunky bottle that Ben Nevis (and parent company Nikka's) official bottlings have been using since the 1990s.
As the name implies, MacDonald's Traditional Ben Nevis seeks to recreate an old Highland whisky style, bottled at 46% with more smoke than one might expect and a combination of sherry and bourbon casks adding honey and fruity flavours without veering into the more modern vanilla-heavy sweetness.
