Macallan Rich Cacao Speyside single malt whisky appeared in 2021 as the first instalment in the distillery's Harmony Collection, which later expanded to include Macallan Fine Cacao, Macallan Inspired by Intense Arabica and Macallan Smooth Arabica in 2022 and Macallan Amber Meadow in 2023.

Macallan Rich Cacao and Macallan Fine Cacao were produced in collaboration with El Celler De Can Roca's pastry chef Jordi Roca and were originally exclusives for the travel retail market. This Macallan Rich Cacao malt whisky matured in a mix of American and European oak sherry-seasoned casks and was bottled at a sturdy 44%.
