Released in 2019 Macallan Edition Number 5 is a collaboration with colour specialists the Pantone Colour Institute, who were inspired by Macallan's natural colour to create a special new purple colour for the label, it says here.

Bottled at 48.5%, Macallan Edition Number 5 has been assembled from a complex recipe of first fill ex-bourbon barrels and a myriad of first and second fill hogsheads and butts and has been well-received by critics and (more importantly) whisky fans, making it one of the more popular releases from Macallan in recent times.
