A high strength sherried official Macallan is always a treat, but Macallan’s Boutique Collection series, which ran from 2016-2020, was not available for everyone - these were special editions for travel retail markets.
This Macallan Boutique Collection from 2016 was the inaugural Macallan Boutique bottling and was exclusive to the Taiwan Macallan Boutique at Taoyuan International Airport. This inaugural Macallan Boutique edition was bottled at the pleasingly potent strength of 100 UK imperial proof (57%) without any artificial colouring and, probably not coincidentally, this is one of the most popular of the recent releases from the distillery.
