This 56-year-old Longmorn 1968 was bottled by G&M without colouring or chill filtration from single cask 5833, a first fill sherry butt cask that turned out 200 bottles at an incredibly impressive for its age natural cask strength of 54.3%. It's a thrill to know that Gordon & MacPhail still have some of these magnificent old 1960s Longmorn sherry casks sitting around at the Elgin warehouses, long may it continue.

BEESWAX POLISH aromas give way to SWEET TANGERINE , DARK CHERRIES, and STEWED RAISIN. RED APPLE, TREACLE and ANISEED notes are enhanced by WARM SPICES.
Taste:
smooth with sweet DRIED TOBACCO flavours, followed by ORANGE MARMALADE, DARK CHOCOLATE and hints of ROAST COFFEE BEAN. WALNUT and DRIED FIG give way to LIQUORICE and mature OAK character.
Finish:
full and long with CIGAR BOX influences, CITRUS undertones and PEPPER.
