A cask strength 21-year-old Loch Lomond 1996 from a pair of bourbon hogshead casks bottled by Wm Cadenhead in 2018 for their Cadenhead's Small Batch range.

Of course, Loch Lomond distillery is so stylistically diverse that saying a whisky is distilled by Loch Lomond isn't really clear enough. This particular Cadenhead's Loch Lomond is believed to be the distillery's lightly peated Inchmurrin malt whisky. In any event, it's a 1996 Loch Lomond 21-year-old and the two bourbon hogsheads yielded a total of 450 bottles at 51.5%, so it's likely going to be delicious stuff.

Official Tasting Notes

Nose: Caramel, oak aged Chardonnay, butter icing and agave syrup.

Palate: Lemon curd, vanilla custard, lime marmalade and then mint, fennel and hints of basil. Very refreshing.

Finish: Lemon meringue pie, cashew nuts and clotted cream.
