Loch Lomond 18-year-old is a select blend of the distillery's peated and unpeated styles of single malt whisky, matured for 18 years exclusively in refill bourbon casks to allow the spirit's natural fruitiness to intensify and be complemented by the sweetness and structure of the oak influence.

We really like the look of this recently-revamped Loch Lomond range and this should be one of the picks of the bunch. Bottled at 46% along with the rest of the range, at this price Loch Lomond 18-year-old looks like a bargain.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Green apple and grapefruit aromas fuse before honeysuckle and mature oak character comes through.

Taste: Elegant wood notes of toasted oak and cigar box become green fruits with apple and gooseberry.

Finish: Long finish with dried tea and tobacco leaf in balance with soft medicinal peatiness and wood smoke.
