The first cask strength version of Laphroaig 25-year-old, bottled in 2008. This edition was viewed as a major upgrade on the inaugural Laphroaig 25-year-old, which had appeared the previous year at 40% to a lukewarm reception and mixed reviews.

Bottled from a mix of Oloroso sherry and ex-bourbon casks at a hearty but not overpowering 50.9%, this 2008 batch of Laphroaig 25-year-old Cask Strength had no such issues and was a major hit straight out of the gate, with Islay addicts swooning over its refined but still powerful sooty smokiness and rich, complex palate. A landmark bottling for Laphroaig this century.
