This 25-year-old Laphroaig 2000 came from single cask 4078, an Oloroso sherry butt that yielded 521 bottles at a very impressive for its age natural cask strength of 54.5%. Laphroaig really sparkles after long ageing like this, with the spirit's raw phenols tamed to a mellow smokiness.
