A perky 20cl bottle of unaged 'new make' peated spirit from the Lagg distillery on Arran, which commenced distilling in 2019. Owners Arran distillery (aka Lochranza) have now moved all of their peated spirit production to Lagg, so they obviously think it's pretty good stuff.

Lagg's first distillations will become single malt whisky around Easter 2022, but for those who can't wait, this unaged peated spirit is a great way to see the quality Lagg is capable of - although as it's been bottled at its filling strength of 63.5% it's probably best to add a drop of water.

Tasting Notes

Officlal Tasting Notes

Nose: Fresh pear notes, clean & crisp with an undertone of sweet peated malt.

Palate: Light fruit and sweet notes of heather, well- balanced with a hot chilli spiciness. Undertones of rice pudding complimented with a rich campfire smoke.

Finish: Sweetness, Smoke, Peat, Long lasting , Mouth-watering , Warm.
