Kinclaith 1967-1991 Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice
Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 40%
A very rare Kinclaith 1967 Lowland single malt whisky bottled by independent bottlers Gordon & MacPhail in 1991 for their Connoisseurs Choice range, which was in its imperious Old Map Label era at the time.
Kinclaith was produced on a pair of pot stills installed for the purpose in Glasgow's Strathclyde grain distillery complex in 1957 but the experiment was deemed a failure and new owners Whitbread ripped out the Kinclaith stills in 1975 to facilitate an expansion of Strathclyde's grain distilling capacity. The distillery's malt whiskies were mostly blended away into former owners Seager Evans' Long John blended whisky, so thank heavens for the likes of G&M, who managed to snaffle a few casks for the collectors.
