The marriage of strongly peated spirit and sherry casks doesn't always run smoothly, but Kilchoman somehow always seem to get it right. 

Here's the 2021 edition of Kilchoman Loch Gorm, a batch of two dozen oloroso sherry casks filled in 2011 and 2012 and bottled at 46% after a minimum of 9 years maturation. The evolution of Loch Gorm has been fascinating, with the age of the vatting casks gradually creeping up.

It's always fascinating to taste another step in Kilchoman's evolution - the whiskies released now are all mature and perfect as they are, but it's a tantalising prospect to imagine how an 18 or 25-year-old Loch Gorm will taste.
