Johnnie Walker XR 21-year-old is a prestige blend created to commemorate the knighthood bestowed upon Alexander Walker II, John Walker's grandson, and is said to have been inspired by his handwritten notes on blending. Whatever the substance of that story, Johnnie Walker XR 21-year-old certainly contains some of Diageo's long-aged stocks - and these early editions were said to include some Brora single malt whisky in the assemblage.
