The Hearach is the first single malt whisky from the Isle of Harris distillery in the Outer Hebrides, which opened in 2015. These bottles are from The Hearach Batches 9-12 which were released simultaneously in Spring 2024.
This Isle of Harris Hearach island single malt whisky is a small batch single malt with a medium peating level (12-13ppm) and was bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration after maturation for at least four years in predominantly ex-bourbon casks from Heaven Hill and Buffalo Trace, with 15% Oloroso and Fino sherry casks for balance and complexity.
The tiny Isle of Harris distillery in Tarbert waited a long time to bring The Hearach to eager whisky fans, and the first batches were a huge success. Batches 9-12 of The Hearach were released early in 2024 and follow the same formula, so if you haven't tried it yet now's your chance.
