Hermitage are like the cognac equivalent of the whisky industry's independent brands, searching out the best casks from both well-known cognac houses and the many independent producers in the Cognac region whose eaux-de-vies are usually snapped up by the bigger brands for their own prestige bottlings.
Hermitage Cacao 25 is a selected eaux-de-vie from a well-known producer and was created with Ugni Blanc grapes and distilled on a small Charentais alembic still. The spirit was aged briefly in new Limousin oak casks before being transferred into old barrels for the remainder of its 25 years of maturation. A magnificent old cognac selected by one of the industry's finest noses.
