A no-age-statement Japanese single malt whisky from Suntory's Hakushu Distillery, Hakushu Distiller's Reserve replaced the much-missed Hakushu 12-year-old in 2014 due to pressure on stocks of aged Hakushu single malt.

Hakushu Distiller's Reserve is a combination of youngish lightly peated and heavily peated Hakushu spirits including some aged in old refill bourbon casks. A delicious introduction to the delights of Suntory's Hakushu, which is often unfairly overlooked in favour of big sister distillery Yamazaki.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Peppermint, melon, cucumber.

Palate: Yuzu, grapefruit, lemon thyme.

Finish: Refreshing, subtle smoke.
