This Infrequent Flyers Glentauchers 2012 11-year-old was finished in a puncheon cask (around 320 litres usually) that previously held Pedro Ximenez sherry, so naturally there'll be lots of delicious sweet, rich nutty dried fruit and patisserie spices at play. Colour: Mahogany.
Nose: Nutella, cocoa, toasted coconut and a touch of cinnamon spice.
Palate: Mocha, dark chocolate, stewed raisins and sultanas. Homemade fruit loaf and caramelised treacle toffee, with a hint of trifle. There is a soft, creaminess here, with just a pinch of cloves at the close.
