Glenrothes 2009-2025 | 16 Year Old Infrequent Flyers Single Cask 6344
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: The Alistair Walker Whisky Company 70cl / 58.1%
A single cask Glenrothes 2009 16-year-old Speyside single malt whisky released in 2025 by indie bottlers Alistair Walker Whisky Co. as part of their Infrequent Flyers range.
Bottled without colouring or chill filtration, this 16-year-old Glenrothes 2009 came from single cask 6344 and was finished in a hogshead cask that had previously held the sherry-esque Moscatel wine and yielded 306 bottles at an epic natural cask strength of 58.1%. Glenrothes is frequently casked at full distillation strength rather than being reduced to the industry standard 63.5% before filling, which probably explains the high strength on this one, and the distillery's spirit loves sherry casks and really starts to get interesting around this sort of age. This should be a treat.
