An old bottle of Glenmorangie 1979 bottled back in 1995 - this was the first of a pair of small batch bottlings of the 1979 vintage that were released in 1995 and 1996. A delicious sipping dram, medium-bodied with sweet malt flavours and hints of smoke and saline.

These old 1970s vintage Glenmorangies have a strong reputation, and deservedly so. They show a well-matured traditional Highland spirit and, despite dating from the mid-90s when the distillery's wine maturation policy was already in overdrive, they aren't double-matured, making them almost naked by Glenmorangie standards. A very fine dram.
