Glenallachie are embracing wine cask finishes these days, with some notable successes, including the cask strength 31-year-old single cask Rioja finish that served as the forerunner to this particular bottling.

This particular small batch Glenallachie release is a more modest 13-year-old Glenallachie finished in Rioja red wine barriques and bottled at 48%, but still retains the lip-smacking red berry and dried fruit flavours that made the 31-year-old so popular.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Golden Blush.

Nose: Waves of red berries, honey, grape must, orange peel and almonds.

Palate: Rich heather honey, sultanas, almonds and red berries, with barley sugar, grapefruit, orange peel and a hint of aniseed.
