Glenallachie 12-year-old is the standard entry-level bottling in the distillery's core range and makes the perfect introduction to the delights of this splendid Speysider, which has discovered a new lease of life since being taken over by distillery maestro Billy Walker in 2017. Glenallachie 12-year-old is bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration from a mix of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks and remains among the best value drams in Speyside.

Nose: Hints of dark chocolate, treacle and heather honey, with cinnamon, espresso and sticky raisins in the background.

Taste: Marzipan and orchard fruit tones, followed by warming mocha, butterscotch and grated nutmeg.
