A 10-year-old Glenallachie single malt whisky that started out in ex-bourbon barrels before being finished for 18 months in virgin French oak casks and bottled for the distillery's Virgin Oak series.

Glenallachie 10-year-old Virgin French Oak has been bottled at a hearty 48% without colouring or chill filtration (of course) and should be delicious whisky, with the virgin French oak casks adding soft, sweet spices to the distillery's taut, characterful spirit.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Golden Bronze.

Nose: Waves of orange peel, heather honey and soft spice, followed by caramel, orchard fruits and mocha.

Palate: Layers of heather honey, mocha and brittle toffee, with grapefruit, cinnamon, earthy tannins and notes of ginger on the finish.
