A bottle of Glenallachie 10-year-old Cask Strength Speyside single malt whisky. This is from Batch 6 of Glenallachie 10-year-old Cask Strength, which was bottled in 2021.

Despite the success of Glenallachie 10-year-old Cask Strength Batch 3, which picked up Best Speyside Single Malt at the World Whisky Awards 2020, no-one could have foreseen that Batch 4 would go even further, being crowned World's Best Single Malt at the World Whisky Awards 2021.

Batch 5 of this tremendous whisky lasted nanoseconds when it was launched a few months ago and the hype is real for Batch 6, which has been bottled at the slightly higher strength of 57.8%.

As before, this 10-year-old Glenallachie Cask Strength is composed predominantly of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheons, with a smattering of virgin oak and Rioja casks adding an extra layer of sweet, spicy fruitiness for good measure.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Lashings of heather honey, dark chocolate and mocha, with almonds, cinnamon and orange peel.

Palate: Waves of dark chocolate, treacle, mocha, heather honey and almonds, fused with cinnamon, marmalade and grapefruit.
