A small batch Laudale Glen Elgin 12-year-old Speyside single malt whisky bottled in 2020 without colouring or chill filtration by indie bottlers Adelphi as Batch 4 of their splendid Laudale series.

This Laudale Batch 4 Glen Elgin 12-year-old came from a small batch of Oloroso sherry hogshead casks that yielded a total of 1446 bottles at a hearty drinking strength of 46%. Glen Elgin is a robust, characterful spirit and ageing in sherrywood suits it very well - this one is packed with flavour but remains endearingly easy to drink.

Adelphi's Laudale is a very occasional small batch bottling - just five editions have been released since 2009. Thus far, all the Laudale releases have been 12-year-old sherry-matured Speyside drams bottled at 46% - this Glen Elgin from Batch 4 was selected and approved by Adelphi's Chief Nose, the peerless Charles MacLean.
