Garnheath 1972-2000 | 27 Year Old | Silent Stills Cask 386516
Lowland Single Grain Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Signatory Vintage 70cl + 5cl / 59.4%
A splendid 27-year-old old Garnheath 1972 single grain whisky bottled at cask strength in 2000 for Signatory's groundbreaking Silent Stills series. Garnheath was the grain distillery within InverHouse's Moffat distilling complex (also home to Glenflagler and Killyloch) but was closed in 1986 after just over 20 years of production.
This 27-year-old Garnheath from Signatory was one of the first Garnheath single grain whiskies ever bottled, and was the oldest ever Garnheath whisky when it first appeared. As was standard for the Silent Stills series, this came in a wooden case with an accompanying miniature - another excellent Signatory innovation that they didn't get enough credit for - and a stencilled replica cask bung.
