Ballechin 2009 13-year-old Cask Strength has been assembled from a mix of bourbon and sherry casks and was bottled at a robust natural strength of 54.9%. Signatory Vintage owner Andrew Symington bought Edradour from Pernod Ricard in 2002, and began producing Ballechin the following year, so the early vintages are getting really interesting now.
Ballechin is usually peated to around 50ppm, so it's a must-try for Islay fans looking for something a bit different - this Cask Strength 13-year-old looks like a good place to start if you haven't had one before.
