Calvados is a French brandy made from apples and/or pears and is a great partner for upfront malty whiskies like Deanston, with the Calvados casks adding a delicious layer of creamy apple patisserie aromas and flavours to this splendid Deanston 2007 12-year-old, which was bottled without colouring or chill filtration at its potent cask strength of 57.4% for maximum flavour intensity.
