This 2008 bottling of Clynelish Distillery Only was a limited edition of 7000 bottles from a small batch of ex-bourbon casks that were rumoured at the time to have matured between eight and ten years, and weighed in at a full-throttle 57.3%. A bright, youthful, potent Clynelish leaning more to the waxy, minerally side of the distillery character, this has less fruit than the standard 14-year-old and a lot more sharp, peppery spices at full strength, so it's a good idea to keep the water jug handy.
