A bottle of Caroni 1998 17-year-old single cask Trinidad rum, bottled by Hunter Laing, an independent bottler more famous for their whiskies, as part of their excellent Kill Devil range. 

Caroni distillery closed in 2003 but has since become a legendary lost distillery, the Caribbean equivalent of Brora or Port Ellen. This single cask 17-year-old Caroni 1998 from Hunter Laing yielded just 258 bottles at its cask strength of 63.1% and was given the 'HTR' mark at the distillery, indicating that it's one of the most sought after styles: the high ester Heavy Trinidad Rum. This will be an epic rum.
