This 9-year-old Caol Ila 2015 was bottled from a mix of first fill Oloroso sherry butts and bourbon hogshead casks, and clocks in at 57.1%, equivalent to 100 UK Imperial Proof in the old system. Caol Ila is one of the best Islay malts at this kind of age, and the sherry butts and bourbon hogsheads will have added plenty of character - this should be a star, and looks like a no-brainer at this price.
