Yet again Caol Ila seems to be carrying the torch for affordable aged Islay malts, while all the others disappear up their own bung holes, there always seems to be some stunning aged examples around from this great distillery. At this age Caol Ila becomes wonderfully medicinal, coastal and oily with rich notes of tea, minerals and green fruits. Gorgeous stuff.
