Richly phenolic with a perfect balance between peat and medicine this 12yo is surprisingly complex and is now totally devoid of any perfume, soap or lavender notes that blighted older versions distilled in the 80s. This is from the fresh, vital and brilliant 90s stock and it really shows. The flavours and brilliant, strong and perfectly composed with a real classy elegance about it. One of the best value standard Islay malts on the market.
