Produced in small batches, the Benromach Sassicaia is part of Benromach's wood finish Series and uses hand-selected wine casks from the fashionable wine-producing region of Bolgheri in Tuscany.
This whisky was distilled in 2011 and was matured in First-fill Bourbon barrels before being finished for no less than 2 years in wine barrels from The Bolgheri region in Tuscany.
Bottled in 2019 at 45% this gives a palate of dramatic ruby red summer fruits, soft spice and milk chocolate. The finish is a typical Benromach subtle smokiness.
