Founded in Waco, Texas in 2008, Balcones distillery makes some of the USA's most innovative and exciting whiskies.

For Balcones Texas Single Malt the distillery uses a variety of wood types, and due to the hot Texas climate much less ageing is required for the casks to have a dramatic effect: Balcones Texas Single Malt is aged around two years before bottling at 53%, and although that makes it a straight whiskey under US laws, it must be classified here as a Malt Spirit.

Official Tasting Notes

Nose: Ripe, buttered stone fruit, banana and pears; honey and rose water with delicate citrus accents.

Palate: Silky and full on the palate; lightly toasted bread with fresh butter and marmalade.

Finish: Long finish with lingering toast and burnt sugar notes morphing into rich malt and wood flavors with counterbalancing acidity.
