A 20-year-old Auchroisk bottled for Diageo's Special Releases 2010 at its hefty natural cask strength of 58.1%.

Auchroisk is a high class modern Speyside distillery but is often unfairly overlooked as the vast majority of its output goes into Diageo's blends. Auchroisk was the original Singleton single malt whisky but has become rather low profile nowadays since the Singleton brand was repurposed without it.

This Special Release Auchroisk 20-year-old was matured in a mix of American and European oak casks, and shows plenty of sherry influence on its classic nutty, biscuity palate, balanced by honey, vanilla and oak spices. Needs a drop of water to really shine.
