An exciting rum-finished cask strength Ardnamurchan released at the end of 2023, Ardnamurchan Rum Cask Release is a mix of the distillery's peated and unpeated spirit bottled at a substantial 55% cask strength.

This special edition Ardnamurchan AD/10.23 came from a batch of 31 ex-bourbon American Standard Barrels (smaller than hogsheads at around 180 litres), of which 18 (around 60%) were originally filled with unpeated spirit from the 2016 vintage and the remainder being peated spirit from the 2017 vintage. These were then finished in Jamaican rum casks before being released as an edition of 7200 bottles.

Nose: Lemon Italian ice, overipe apricot, dusty hay, heavily salted cashew, vanilla extract, dried banana - fruit forward but still earth and rich.

Palate: Spritzy and bright up front.

Finish: Medium-long.
