Ardbeg Perpetuum made its debut during Feis Ile, the Islay Festival of Whisky & Music in 2015. 2015 was special for Ardbeg as it was the distillery's Bicentenary year, and Perpetuum was an important launch for the celebrations, which are commemorated on the bottle's packaging.

Ardbeg Perpetuum was a careful combination of old and young whiskies from both bourbon and sherry casks and was bottled at a hearty drinking strength of 47.4%. Although demonstrating plenty of character, Perpetuum was a rather restrained Ardbeg in terms of phenols, with a gentle smoky thread among sweet patisserie and fruit flavours.
