Amrut Spectrum 004 is a small batch Indian malt whisky with a very unusual cask finish, yet another great innovation from the restlessly creative minds at India's first Indian malt whisky distillery.

For Amrut Spectrum, the whisky starts out in ex-bourbon barrels before being transferred to finish in special casks made, no doubt at horrendous expense, from alternating staves of four different wood types. The staves used are from lightly-charred bourbon barrels, toasted French oak and Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks - hence the 004 in Amrut Spectrum 004.

Amrut Spectrum 004 is bottled at 50% and is an intensely flavoursome Indian single malt whisky from the top drawer, with complex aromas and flavours of rich dried fruit, vanilla and full-on spicy oak.
