Aberargie Inaugural Single Malt 2026
Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 48.2%
A bottle of the long-awaited Aberargie Inaugural Lowland single malt whisky, released by owners Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers early in 2026 as the Aberargie distillery's first official bottling.
Aberargie distillery filled its first casks in 2017, but the Morrisons have been very patient rather than rushing out a whisky to market as soon as it turned three years old. Now, almost a decade since distillation commenced, this first official bottling of Aberargie is finally making its bow.
Aberargie is a field/farm to bottle distillery, with a distinctly old school ethos. The barley used at the distillery comprises the heritage strain Golden Promise, which is grown on the distillery's own farm, along with Laureate barley grown on two other Morrison-owned farms in Scotland. Maturation is entirely in first fill bourbon and sherry casks - no fancy finishes here.
Aberargie Inaugural is comprised of a mix of 52% Golden Promise and 48% Laureate with a straight 50-50 split between bourbon and sherry cask-matured whisky in the batch, and has been bottled without colouring or chill filtration at a sturdy 48.2% strength. It's fantastic to finally have some Aberargie on our virtual shelves - no doubt this one won't be hanging around but we can't wait to see what's coming next.
